The New Orthography of French : Theory and Practice

The bachelor thesis is named The New Orthography of French : Theory and Practice. It talks about a reform of french spelling from the year 1990, and its part is mapping of spelling changes. The theoretical part deals with previous reforms which had been approved in the past by French academy, and it also describes circumstances of origin of the last spelling reform from the year 1990. This part also deals with enforcement of the reformed rules in education and in French speaking countries. Practical part deals with description of realized research which was done among Czech teachers of French language. This research aims to clarify what knowledge the teachers have about the reform and to find out if the teachers follow those rules in teaching. Presentation of francophone countries (except France) in geographic and travel magazines published in Czech Republic

The aim of this bachelor's thesis is to provide an analysis of the image of French-speaking countries (except France) reflected by the geographical and travel magazines published in the Czech Republic. The theoretical part of this thesis deals with the tourist industry and its various types. It is followed by an overall presentation of Francophony, the French language in Europe, and then the French-speaking countries (European and partially non-European countries) from a historical point of view as well as a tourist destination. The theoretical part is concluded by a short description of the marketing strategy of the tourist destination and a presentation of the studied periodical (geographical and travel) magazines. As for the practical part, it is devoted to the analysis of the articles concerning French-speaking countries. The latter part focuses on the quantity of found articles, the linguistic part of the articles and the evaluation of presented informations in which the thematic units are organised. The result of this thesis is a presentation of the complex image of the studied countries presented to the readers. The thesis comprises a conclusion summarizing the text, a trilingual glossary, and an annexe showcasing the evaluation of questionnaires responded by Swiss and Belgian citizens.

The effective tax rate of personal income tax in francophone countries

This work is focused on effective tax rates of the personal income tax from a microeconomic perspective. The work analyses francophone countries, namely Belgium, France, Canada, Luxembourg, Greece, Switzerland and also the Czech Republic. The first chapter defines elements of the personal income tax, social insurance contributions and the effective tax rate along with examples of its calculation. The second chapter describes the personal income tax and social insurance contributions in chosen countries and calculates the effective tax rate using collected information. The effective tax rate is calculated for six sample taxpayers with different levels of average wage. The final chapter compares, according to sample taxpayers, effective tax rates including only income tax or social security contributions payed by employees, and at the end the effective tax rate as a whole.

Feminization of the names of professions in the contemporary French

The diploma thesis deals with problems connected to the formation of feminine names of occupations in contemporary French. The theoretical part is devoted to the evolution of feminism not only in the French Republic, gender questions, particularly in relation to the language, and the language policies of France. Furthermore, it is aimed at word-formative possibilities of contemporary French for the derivation of names of occupations, functions, degrees and ranks. A part of it deals with the situation in several francophone countries. The objective of the practical part is to assess the relation between the political desiderata of the French Republic and the real language usage on the basis of a corpus analysis effected in the Frantext database and Google Web Search.

Analysis and prospects of Czech business abroad - the selected territory (French-speaking countries)

Práce podává návod českým firmám k úspěšnému vstupu na francouzský trh, resp. frankofonní trhy. Analyzuje ekonomické a podnikatelské prostředí ve Francii a ve třech zemích Maghrebu - Alžírsku, Maroku, Tunisku a vyzvedává důležité informace a poznatky pro české firmy, které chtějí proniknout na dané trhy. Analyzovanými oblastmi jsou: ekonomika jednotlivých zemí, vzájemné vztahy s ČR, vzájemná obchodní spolupráce ČR s danými zeměmi až dosud, intelkulturální odlišnosti a perspektivy jejich další ekonomické spolupráce ČR. Závěrečná kapitola práci jen doplňuje a zmiňuje informační zdroje, na které se české podnikatelské subjekty mohou obrátit.
